LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL 2014

Don’t be overwhelmed with all the events of the LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL!

We have prepared a brief summary of what will be going on in the next couple of weeks:

LANDMARKS

A PLACE CALLED HOME

Is not the movie neither the song, is one of the landmark projects proposal of the London Design Festival this year. Following in the footsteps of previous years with projects by Marc Newson, John Pawson, Nendo, Zaha Hadid, or Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec among others, Jasper Morrison, Patternity, Studioilse and Raw Edges will show us their unique insights on the concept of HOME, in such an interesting urban space as Trafalgar Square. The theme, obviously, has to do with the project sponsor, Airbnb: ‘Feel at home, anywhere you go in the world’.

DOUBLE SPACE FOR BMW- Precision & Poetry in Motion

This year we will be rewarded with another landmark project.

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in collaboration with BMW will modify the space of the Raphael Gallery in the V&A with a mirrored installation suspended in the centre of the gallery. ‘The choreographed movement of the giant structures will distort the view of the Raphael cartoons on display, the architecture of the room and the viewer’s perception of the space.’

13 September – 24 October_ Victoria & Albert Museum

FAIRS

The most remarkable events of the festival are the fairs. Being a bit dissapointed with ‘100% Design 2013’ all our expectations are on ‘designjunction’ and ‘Tent London and ‘Superbrands. These last ones hosted at Old Truman Brewery (including ‘Superdesign Gallery’ and ‘100% Norway’ left us a goodtaste in the mouth last year.
